Hands & Heart® Senior Care is a locally owned, small, independent office that provides non-medical in home care. An extremely important advantage to being a small organization is that we are in a better position to provide a more personal service to our clients.
When compared with other big branded agencies in the area, we require fewer resources to operate and maintain. Our low overhead costs allows us to pay our caregivers more, charge our clients less and also makes it possible to have a personal relationahip with all clients, families and caregivers.
Here at Hands & Heart®, we want our clients to know that they can easily get in touch with all of us, including the owner, to help them solve any concerns that may arise. We are able to stay on top of every concern, monitor client feedback, and respond immediately. We see the opportunity to provide caregiving services to seniors as a privilege that must be met with great integrity, always putting empathy and the belief in the dignity of all people at the forefront of our work.
This philosophy originated from the natural compassion of Hands & Heart® founder Jacob Hurst, who received his Master degree in Health Administration with a focus on geriatric care. Jacob begin his caregiving career in Arkansas at the age of 19, as a caregiver for Friendship Community Care.
He moved to Dallas to complete his education and began working behind the scenes in Administration at Parkland and Baylor. During that time he lost touch with his passion, one on one relationships with clients. He decided to make a change and accepted a job coordinating care for seniors at a Home Health agency. He witnessed such a strong example of caring, kindness and concern, but still wasn’t satisfied with the quality he strived to provide and it continued to fuel his passion to do more.
The need for care and companionship has grown dramatically in recent years as needs continue to rise. Current family caregiver statistics show that more than 50 million people provide care for an ill, disabled or aging family member each year, with this knowledge, Jacob decided to create something he could build from the ground up, and start a legacy of love and companionship that stood out from the rest. So, Hands & Heart® Senior Care was born.
We know we may be biased, but we truly believe we provide the best home care out there. We care about each and every client and caregiver, they are a part of our family.
